Looking
at the whole site
When planning any project for your school grounds, no matter how small, it is important to take the entire school property into consideration because any part of the grounds will be affected by the whole and all of the activities that take place within it.
The results of the site use surveys will have shown you the areas of the grounds that can be greened and the ones that must be kept free of obstruction such as access routes for vehicles and services infrastructure.

Ask the members of your greening team whether
they are "little picture" or "big picture" people. Some
people feel intimidated at the prospect of planning for transforming large
spaces and prefer to work on designing smaller projects. The "big picture"
people on your team will be able to see the site in its entirety and can
work together to transfer the data gathered during the surveys onto the
base site plan.
